  • A major research project funded by UGC, New Delhi was completed by the department (Feb 2009 –Jan 2012)
  • A major research project worth of Rs.50.7 lakhs funded by DST (TSD) entitled ‘Treatability Studies for Textile Wastewater - Phase I’ was completed by the department (Aug 2013-Dec-2015)
  • A minor research project worth of Rs.1.2 lakhs funded by UGC entitled ‘Studies on the Synthesis, Characterization and Application of Nanostructured Layered Double Hydroxides for the removal of anionic pollutant from dying industry wastewater’ is ongoing in the department
  • The department offers consultancy services to industries, NGO's and rural community in the region for analytical testing like water quality, food products and for guiding M.Sc., M.Phil., Projects

LABORATORY

  • Chemistry Laboratory was established from the inception of the college and now it has latest facilities and infrastructure to support up to research level.
  • Three Chemistry laboratories with an area of 523.38 sq.mt and research lab with an area of 51.35 sq.mt and equipment worth Rs. 30, 00,000 are available.

    • To carry out applied research in the field of environmental, organic,corrosion and surface chemistry.

    Programmes Offered

    The Department as a Research Centre provides facility leading to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the fields of Environmental Chemistry, Co-ordination Chemistry, Surface Chemistry & Adsorption, Nanotechnology and Material Science.
