MICHAEL FARADAY AC MACHINES LABORATORY

  • Imparts the knowledge about characteristics and behavior of the DC and AC Machines.
  • Well established with all kinds of motors, generators and latest Drives.
  • This is the core lab for the Electrical Engineering branch and the ancillary for EIE, Chemical, Mechanical and Mechatronics branches.

Software: ANSYS software

JACK KILBY INTEGRATED CIRCUITS LABORATORY

  • To study the characteristics of linear IC's like Op-Amps, Timers, PLL etc. and Digital IC's like 74XX series.
  • Equipped with Digital LCR-Q Meter, Oscilloscopes, Power supplies, PQ analyzer.
  • Application experiments using the above IC's are also performed in this lab

GUSTAV R.KIRCHHOFF ELECTRICAL WORKSHOP

  • To impart the practical knowledge to the students about the Domestic Appliances, wiring, transformers DC machines, AC machines and basic electronic circuits.
  • Established with the basic tools, machines and accessories to provide service to all first year students

SCHOTTKY POWER ELECTRONICS AND DRIVES LABORATORY

  • It consists of different kinds of demo kits such as SCR characteristics, study kit for D.C motor control using chopper and necessary simulation softwares.
  • The lab is equipped with all the power electronic converters, DSP and FPGA based DC and AC Drives, Digital Integrated kits, Power supplies.

HEINRICH RUDOLF HERTZ LABORATORY

  • To gain knowledge on the DSP processors by implementing real time applications using FIR and IIR filters.
  • quipped with 36 systems, advanced DSP kits like TMS320C5X series & associated softwares like MATLAB to perform digital signal processing and its applications.

GORDONMOORE ELECTRONIC DESIGN LABORATORY

  • Provides an opportunity for the student and the faculty members to carry out their project modules and research works
  • Equipped with Xilinx SPARTAN 3E, PIC Microcontroller Boards, TMS320, BlackFin Processor, dsPIC piggy bag, Digital Oscilloscopes, Power supplies

NYQUIST CONTROL SYSTEM LABORATORY

  • Lab is equipped with control system kits like DC servomotor and synchros.
  • Well established with instrumentation kits like LVDT,strain guage,thermistor and thermocouple kit
  • Provides an opportunity for the students to implement the control system concepts using MATLAB software

ALBERT EINSTEIN ADVANCED POWER ELECTRONICS LABORATORY

  • Provides an opportunity for the students to learn the latest technologies which are widely used in the industries.
  • Equipped with conventional DC drives, AC drives, DSP based Drive system, and FPGA based drive system, Switched Reluctance Motor drive, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor drive, Brushless DC motor drive and an industrial DC drive from NELCO AdVANTAGE 32.

WILLIAM SHOCKLEY DEVICES & CIRCUITS LABORATORY

  • Equipped with basic electronic devices for conducting experiments relevant to electrical and electronic devices and circuits and major devices for signal generation like function generators, signal generators and measuring devices like Cathode Ray Oscilloscope (CRO).

SHIVA AYYADURAI MODELING AND SIMULATION LABORATORY

  • Furnished with high speed internet facilities in all the systems. Softwares in this lab interface the mathematical computing visualization and a powerful language to provide a flexible environment for technical computing in the areas of power electronics, control system, power system and electronic circuits.
  • Provides a way to kindle the effective communication through the software named Author Plus which is highly used to train the students towards their improvement in Communication skills.

THOMAS ALVA EDISON POWER SYSTEM LABORATORY

  • To update the knowledge of protective relays, electrical power system operation, control, protection, automation, plant monitoring and planning to the students
  • Used to carry out research, development and demonstration activities related to power system engineering.

G D NAIDU RESEARCH LABORATORY

Department of Science and Technology, Government of India has sanctioned Rs.52.75 lakhs for the project titled "Design and Development of Multilevel Inverters for Power Quality Improvement in Renewable Energy Sources". The duration of the project is 3 years. The Investigators are Mr. S. Albert Alexander and Mr. R. Karthik Kumar.
